I really really love the men’s wear in this collection. Tough luck getting a guy to wear those flowery vests and lacey clear shirts. Never the less it would be worth a try! I love the inspiration that went into this collection. I loved the 1950’s woman in the suites and jackets. I also loved the couples wear. I think the two pieces really worked well together and complemented each other in a thought provoking way. The red couple both had striking outfits. There was an interesting play on gender roles in this collection. The woman had very defined makeup giving them a solid masculine look. The woman looked very composed where as the men looked very playful and childish.
Alexis Mabille, a 30-year-old Lyon-born designer with a pedigree from YSL and Dior, who is now in his third season. He certainly made an ambitious leap forward today, sending out a huge collection of over 50 looks. Though some of that was menswear, and much of it could be discounted as unfocused juvenilia, he proved he's capable of moving beyond his status as the little guy who does cute things with bow-laden bags and shirts.
